Meeting the Neighbors

[mystic]

"Yeah thanks." she said slipping of the fence. She hadn't realized how thirsty she was until he said that. She started walking toward the house and looked back to make sure he was coming.

David looked over and almost blushed. "Yeah...um just concentrating." he laughed.

[Lexi Lu]

"Yeah I do that too." Roxi said looking back up at his blushing face. She chuckled and shifted her weight, a little uncomfortable. "You seem like a good guy though." She added smiling. She let her arms cross over her rib cage and she sighed silently looking down.

Luke laughed a little and jogged after Jessica with a large grin on his face. He went past her and into the house leaving the door open for her. Checking the fridge he pulled out two cokes and threw one to her as she came into the house.

Jessica caught it with her left hand and closed the door with her right. "Thanks." she said. "Service with a smile?" she laughed walking into the kitchen.

David smiled and looked down at his shoes. "Yeah some people might say that." he said laughing. He looked back up at the horses as they grazed and then at Roxi.

Luke sat down and looked back up at her. "Yeah I guess so." he popped the top of the can and took a nice long drink.

Roxi shook her head as he spoke. She thought maybe she was making him feel a little uncomfortable. "C'mon, then." she said turning around. "Who knows what Luke's gotten into." She looked back at him only for a second and then started to walk towards the house.

Jessie smiled and sat down next to him, popping open the can and sipping it lightly. Then she held it against her lap and she relaxed her arms.

David laughed and followed her to the house.

Roxi smiled as she opened the door. "I see you guys got bored." she noted laughing. She got herself a glass of water and looked to David to see if he wanted somthing.

David noticed her look and quickly spoke up. "Nothing for me." he said.

Jessica noticed everyone come in and put her soda on the counter. "Just a little." she smiled.

Roxi took a sip of the water and gave a look to Luke. "Well you've seen the farm and everything." She said looking around at all the people. "I'm going to head upstairs," she added looking out the window. She didn't want to be rude but was tired and had a long day.

David nodded and waved. "Ok I guess I'll see you later then?" he said and he sat down near Jessie and Luke and put his hands on his lap.

Jessie rested her head on her hand and sighed with a smile. It had been a long day.

Roxi nodded to the man's question. She did hope to see him later.

Luke looked at his guests a little confused now. He really didn't know what to say or do. "Well I'm no good at this hosting thing." he said with a laugh.

Jessie smiled. "You have been so far." she chuckled. But she knew he must feel kind of uncomfortable. Especially with no one else to help him host.

David nodded. When Jessie finished he spoke. "Eh neither are we. So don't come to our house." he laughed. "No I'm just kidding, you're welcome anytime."

[Lexi Lu]

"Well, I'll keep that in mind." he said looking over at Jessie and then to David. "But it's getting late so and I have to get over and take care of my own horses." He stood up looking don at them then. "I hope we meet again though." he walked towards the door and waited for them to follow.

"Of course. We should be getting back to our own anyway." he said extending his hand waiting to leave. Jessie smiled and nodded. "See you soon then!" she said watching them.

"I sure will." he said and locked the door, closing it for Roxi. He walked to his own truck and pulled out ofthe driveway so he could go and take care of his horses.
